Pay or shift range: $69,000 USD to $100,000 USD
The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
Description
Twin Rivers Paper Company, headquartered in Madawaska, Maine, is an integrated specialty paper manufacturer producing 400,000 tons of paper per year for the packaging, publishing, label, and technical sectors. With 100 years of papermaking history, the company operates a pulp mill in New Brunswick, and diverse paper assets in northern Maine and upstate New York that produce uncoated and coated white papers in a broad range of basis weights and finishes.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Sourcing Manager - Chemicals, the Raw Materials Specialist manages all phases of the purchasing operation of raw materials for Twin Rivers Paper Company.
Key Responsibilities

Actively supports and promotes safe work practices throughout the mill by being present at safety activities and personally encouraging safe behaviors.

Keeps abreast of modern purchasing practices and techniques and directs staff in the development of modern purchasing and inventory management techniques.

Assist with contracts and purchase agreements.

Manages bulk raw material inventories and orders accordingly.

Manages material flow to ensure inventory is maintained at the optimum level to support on time customer deliveries while keeping inventory holdings at the appropriate levels.

Actively participate in month end closing as well as yearend.

Coordinate with transportation department for pick-ups.

Responsible for IQ Invoicing and verifying accurate billing.

Communicate with operators in the color prep and beater rooms.

Helps with the development of the annual budget, tracks performance, identify and implement opportunities to improve cost performance.

Attends and supports the daily mill production meeting and participates in other meetings such as safety, contractor performance, business review, project scheduling, budget review and staff meetings as required.

Shall have responsibility to report problems with the food safety management system to identified person(s).

Shall have an awareness of the Food Safety Policy, GMP’s, HACCP principles and Food Safety Standard.
Required Qualifications

College degree, preferably in Chemical Engineering or related field

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Procurement or paper mill operations.

Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.
