Full job description

Your future role at a glance

  • Location: Austin, TX and surrounding areas

  • Facility: Six Ascension Acute Care Hospitals

  • Department: Float Pool Dialysis

  • Schedule: Part-time | Days

How you’ll make an impact in this role

  • Delivered specialized acute hemodialysis and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) to high-acuity patients across multiple hospital sites, adapting seamlessly to diverse ICU, CCU, and floor environments.

  • Managed complex vascular access, initiated rapid fluid/electrolyte management, and continuously monitored hemodynamic stability during high-risk dialysis treatments.

  • Conducted pre- and post-treatment patient assessments, interpreting critical lab values and collaborating directly with nephrologists to adjust individualized dialysate prescriptions.

  • Partnered with host hospital multidisciplinary teams to coordinate treatment schedules, provide emergency line troubleshooting, and educate staff on acute renal care protocols.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing required.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
