Location:Baptist Health Lexington - Lexington, KY

Schedule:Full-time | 3rd Shift (Nights) | 12-hour shifts | 3 days per week

UNIT OVERVIEW:

The Baptist Health Lexington Mother/Baby Unit is comprised of 42 private rooms and is staffed by skilled and compassionate nurses who specialize in providing a high level of patient-centered postpartum care for both Mom and baby.Our newborn nursery is staffed by two Newborn Assessment Nurses (NANs), and families receive breastfeeding guidance from staff along with knowledgeable certified lactation consultants. Many members of the team have received extra training and certification in maternal and newborn care.Our focus is assisting families in getting the best start possible and making the transition home as smooth as possible through quality care, education, and support.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, the Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and support services to patients and families. This role performs selected nursing procedures and routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and overall care of patients.

REQUIREMENTS:

-High School Diploma or equivalent

-Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful completion of first year clinical classes in nursing school and validation of a clinical consistent with level of education.

-Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain -BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
