Job Title: Outside Sales Executive - Houston, TX Location: Remote/Hybrid - Houston, TX Reports to: Director of Sales Department Name: Key Accounts Growth Job Types: Full Time – Exempt Position Summary The Outside Sales Executive is responsible for driving sales and revenue results through a consultative sales approach. Reporting to the Director of Sales, this role plays a crucial role in growing Rubicon’s Small-Medium business client profile in a defined market area through in-person sales efforts. The Outside Sales Executive works cross functionally with Key Accounts Growth, Marketing, Account Management, and lead generation teams to manage and maintain an expansive sales pipeline, tailor Rubicon’s services to prospective clients, and launch new accounts. Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in direct sales with existing and potential Rubicon customers to grow Rubicon’s SMB client profile.
  • Prepare, lead, and finalize negotiations and contracts with customers.
  • Educate customers on Rubicon’s service differentiation, pricing, training, and value-added during the sales process.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of proposals and assist with the negotiation of terms on agreements.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customers’ business needs and how decisions are made in order to tailor sales approaches and efforts.
  • Build and maintain a full sales pipeline in a defined territory through lead generation, multi-channel prospecting (cold calls, social media, etc.), and earning referrals.
  • Collaborate with internal Key Account Growth, Marketing, and Account Management teams to expand Rubicon’s Share-of-Wallet (SOW) and ensure successful launch of services.
  • Maintain consistent and thorough customer contact to achieve referrals, grow existing business, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to travel and/or work up to 50%.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or apparent

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
  • May assist with onboarding and training new hires on SMB sales processes, systems, and operational procedures.
  • Supports knowledge sharing, continuous improvement initiatives, and best practices across the SMB team.
  • Lead market sales initiatives and direct sales efforts to maximize market results.
  • Provide a regular cadence (as needed) of sales activity reporting on market performance.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of B2B outside sales experience, preferably in a service-based industry with long-term agreements.
  • Demonstrated success in managing a short sales cycle.
  • Prior experience selling a service, rather than a product required.
  • Knowledge of waste industry is highly valued.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and other Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) models.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle inquiries and requests efficiently and professionally.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
  • Discretion and trustworthiness in handling sensitive information and supporting high-level strategic initiatives.
