Washington State Ferries (WSF) is an essential part of Washington's transportation network. The Opportunity WSF, a division of WSDOT, is currently seeking a Contracts Coordinator 1 to support the agreements that keep ferry services running safely and reliably. This position helps the Contracts & Consultant Services team coordinate contracts that support vessels, terminals, security, and other essential operations. Through careful contract administration and collaboration, the role helps WSF serve communities across Washington.

What to Expect Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, you/the Contracts Coordinator 1 will:
- Provide first-level administration for WSF Vessels contracts, including RFP, IFB, and Small Works Roster packages.
- Prepare and publish project lists and advertisements; coordinate bid openings and publish results.
- Review, print, assemble, and distribute contract packages; track originals routed for signature.
- Maintain contract records, required forms, and insurance and bonding renewal documentation in accordance with agency procedures.
- Review and respond to bidder and contractor correspondence.
- Edit contract templates and review draft documents for accuracy, formatting, and compliance with governing laws and statutes.
- Track contract finances, deadlines, expirations, and renewals; report status to management.
- Maintain bidder and shipyard contact lists and verify bidder prequalification.
- Uphold WSF’s strategic priorities (Service Excellence, Improved Communication, and Empowered People) and values (Serve, Grow, Trust, Respect, and Navigate), ensuring they are embedded in WSF’s culture through leadership actions
Qualifications To be considered for this opportunity, the following are required:

- Contract Interpretation: Experience interpreting contract and agreement terms, requirements, and conditions.
- Status Reporting: Experience compiling and clearly communicating contract or agreement status information.
- Coordination: Experience coordinating with internal contract parties and external contractors and consultant representatives.
- Microsoft Office: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
It is preferred that qualified candidates also have:
- Business or Public Administration: Knowledge of business or public administration principles gained through coursework, training, work, personal, or lived experience.
- Contract Administration: Experience assisting with or performing the coordination, development, administration, or termination of contracts.
- Government Contract Practices: Knowledge of state government contract terminology, practices, and procedures and/or WSF policies and procedures related to administering contracts and agreements.

- This position offers flexible/hybrid remote work options.
- In addition to base salary, employees may be entitled to other forms of compensation depending on the type, duties, or location of the position. For union-represented positions, more information on other forms of compensation can be found in the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements. Information on other compensation types for non-represented positions can be found in Chapter 357-28 of the Washington Administrative Code.
