Systems Engineer - Interiors & Payload Capability (Experienced or Lead)

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an immediate opportunity on the Executive Transport programs for a Systems Engineer to join our ET&S Interiors/Payloads Capability team in Oklahoma City, OK. This role supports sustainment and development of interiors and payload modifications across multiple ET&S programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify lifecycle‑balanced system‑of‑systems solutions

  • Translate customer and operational needs into system performance requirements; integrate technical parameters and ensure compatibility of physical, functional, and program interfaces

  • Manage technical supplier activities to ensure verification and validation of requirements

  • Support requirements decomposition and allocation, including development of certification plans and coordination with certification authorities

  • Identify and resolve cross‑functional technical issues

  • Contribute to proposal development and ensure technical scope is accurately reflected in Basis of Estimates (BOEs) / Estimate at Completion (EAC)

  • Define and execute risk mitigation and opportunity plans

  • Collaborate with internal teams and customer organizations to support program objectives.

Basic Qualifications (Required)

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • Minimum of 5+ years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in verification and validation of requirements

  • Experience with interiors and payloads systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lvl 4): 9+ years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in requirements development and management tools (e.g., IBM DOORS)

  • Strong systems thinking, problem‑solving, and communication skills; proven ability to collaborate across technical teams and leadership

  • Demonstrated experience evaluating complex systems, applying analysis methods, and conducting trade studies

  • Experience developing interfaces and producing interface documentation

  • Experience in risk, issue, and opportunity management

  • Familiarity with airworthiness and certification processes (FAA/EASA).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: Experienced (Lvl 3): $104,550 – $141,450 Lead (Lvl 4): $127,500 - $172,500

Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
