This position will be 3 - 8 hour shifts the first week and 2 - 8 hour shifts the second week.

About the Practice

Corewell Health West Structural Heart specializes in caring for patients with serious and complex heart conditions. Our team works together to provide expert treatment and personalized care for each patient. We are one of the busiest and most experienced programs in Michigan for Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), a minimally invasive procedure used to treat certain heart valve conditions.

Our care team includes three interventional cardiologists, three heart surgeons, and several advanced practice providers (APPs) who work closely together to develop the best treatment plan for every patient. We are also supported by a dedicated team of registered nurses, nurse navigators, medical assistants, clinical technicians, clerical staff, and patient service representatives. Each team member plays an important role in helping patients navigate their care and ensuring a smooth and positive experience from consultation through treatment and follow-up.

About Outpatient Clinics

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

Scope of work

This team member will serve in a clinical and clerical role. The team members deliver quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider; they also provide clerical support in complex matters to assist in the delivery of value-driven health care services. ACCTs assist with patient care, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, scheduling appointments, answering patient phone calls and EPIC in basket messages. ACCTs in our practice also assist with chart prep, EKGs, and spirometry testing.

Candidates for this position should be looking to join a high functioning, fast-paced office. An ideal candidate would have great communication skills, team-oriented mindset, problem solving ability, and impactful patient interactions.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required

  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days

  • 2 years of Insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab service support experience Preferred

  • 2 years of clinical care experience Preferred
