Full job description

About Us We're building AWS for space, providing space experiments and technology demonstrations across LEO, deep space, and lunar orbit.

Our offerings include unmanned labs, testbeds for both dedicated and rideshare missions, and re-entry capsules for payload retrieval.

We simplify access to space with affordable pricing, end-to-end solutions, no minimum mass limits, zero integration fees, and quick deployment (6 months or less).

We serve biopharma, semiconductors, materials science, defence, and more.

Job Description Catalyx is developing next-generation entry systems for space. As a Level - III Propulsion Engineer, you will lead the design and development of our propulsion architecture, including tanks, valves, and system integration. You’ll guide the propulsion effort from concept through testing and ensure the system meets mission requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Own propulsion system architecture and overall design.

  • Lead valve development.

  • Work with the mechanical team on COPV design and validation.

  • Experience with fluid systems, valves, and feed architectures.

  • Strong background in GD&T, DFM, and design for additive manufacturing.

  • Ability to perform material selection and guide manufacturing trade-offs.

  • Hands-on experience selecting sensors appropriate to propellant chemistry and test conditions.

  • Strong expertise in SolidWorks (CAD modelling, assemblies, drafting).

  • Proficiency in simulation methods such as CFD for propulsion/fluid systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead hardware development projects.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior a heritage your designs or hardware have flown.

  • Experience with earth-storable, non-toxic bipropellant propulsion systems.

  • Experience setting up and running static fire tests.
