Full job description

Job Description We are looking for a Ground Station Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain satellite communication infrastructure across our global network. You’ll work on satellite tracking systems, radio interfaces, signal processing pipelines, and ensure reliable uplink/downlink with our spacecraft. This role offers hands-on development across hardware, software, and RF layers.

Requirements Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain automated ground stations for satellite telemetry, tracking, and control (TT&C).

  • Configure radio interfaces (UHF/VHF/S/X-band), modems, and TNCs for telemetry and telecommand.

  • Design, test, and integrate antenna rotator controllers for auto-tracking satellites.

  • Work with software-defined radios for dynamic communication tasks.

  • Deploy and manage ground station software.

  • Build scalable data routing systems for real-time and store-and-forward communication using cloud APIs.

  • Coordinate with the avionics and mission ops teams for satellite pass predictions and data ingestion.

  • Develop dashboards for real-time telemetry visualization.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electronics, Telecommunications, Aerospace, or related field.

  • 2–5 years of experience in ground station operations, RF communication, or satellite systems.

  • Hands-on experience with radio hardware.

  • Proficient in C++, Python, Linux, scripting, and working with serial/UART, TCP/IP interfaces.

  • Solid understanding of link budgets, Doppler shift compensation, and signal modulation.

  • Experience in setting up antennas, feedlines, and LNA/PA systems.

  • Experience in using orbital prediction tools like GPredict, TLE processing, or predict.

Nice to Have (Preferred):

  • Familiarity with ITU/IARU frequency coordination, satellite licensing, and spectrum usage planning.

  • Experience with MERN stack ground station dashboards or API integrations.

  • Experience setting up remote ground stations and managing satellite pass scheduling.

Additional Requirements:

  • Passion for space, satellites, and ground segment technologies.

  • Self-driven and willing to learn continuously.

  • Willingness to relocate as per the needs of the mission or organization.

Not sure if you meet every requirement?

If you’re passionate about Satellite ground stations and have hands-on experience, even if you don’t meet every single qualification listed, we strongly encourage you to apply. We value talent, learning ability, and real-world experience just as much as titles or checklists.
