Job Summary:
Under broad supervision, compounds and dispenses medications following prescriptions issued by physicians, dentists, or other authorized medical practitioners. Provides consultative services to both clients and health care providers.
Pharmacists are needed to fulfill the medication need for the individuals. This helps to ensure accuracy and efficiency in dispensing medications which also helps to ensure individuals' safety.

Employment Requirements To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our employees, individuals and communities we serve, certain positions within DBHDD may require evaluations, vaccinations, professional licensure and certifications. Licenses must be current and enable providers to practice within the State of Georgia.
The following are a listing of evaluations and vaccinations that may be required for employees, including those not involved with direct care:
- Drug Screening
- TB Evaluation
- Annual Influenza*
*Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.

Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate or professional degree in pharmacology from an accredited college or university and current Georgia license to practice pharmacology and one (1) year of professional pharmacology experience or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Pharmacist 2 (HCP151) or position equivalent.
