AI/ML Python Engineer

Job Description

This individual will support the Acquisitions and Divestitures team by designing and developing Python-based Generative AI applications built around the team’s A&D playbook. Their initial focus will be creating a prototype that converts playbook content into text embeddings, stores that information in a vector database, and provides a GPT-4-based interface that allows A&D professionals to search and query the content. They will also enhance existing NLP prototypes, evaluate AI models and solution approaches, develop reusable and maintainable Python components, integrate APIs, manage code through source control, and contribute to technical documentation such as Solution Design Documents. This person will work closely with technical and business stakeholders while regularly communicating project status, risks, issues, and recommendations to leadership.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of hands-on Python design and development experience. 3+ years of hands-on AI, machine learning, and NLP experience. Experience developing Generative AI applications using large language models. Hands-on experience with text embeddings, vector databases, and retrieval-based AI solutions. Strong Microsoft Azure experience. Experience researching and selecting appropriate AI models based on business and technical requirements. Ability to develop reusable, efficient, well-structured, and maintainable Python code. Experience integrating APIs and working with source-control platforms such as Bitbucket. Strong technical problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Ability to evaluate multiple solution approaches and recommend the best path forward. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent field. Strong communication, collaboration, presentation, and technical-documentation skills. Experience developing GPT-4-based interfaces or applications. Experience building Retrieval-Augmented Generation, or RAG, solutions. Experience improving or productionizing existing AI and NLP prototypes. Experience supporting acquisitions, divestitures, or enterprise transformation programs. Previous experience in the healthcare or life sciences industry. Additional cloud experience with AWS. Experience creating Solution Design Documents or similar technical architecture documentation. Experience presenting project status, risks, and technical recommendations to senior leadership.
