Job Duties

Prairieland Solid Waste Management is accepting applications for a full-time position as a Production Worker. The position is located in Truman at the Prairieland Solid Waste Management Facility.

We receive municipal solid waste and process it into Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF). The RDF we produce is used in the production of electricity.

Examples of Daily Responsibilities and Duties of a Production Worker: (include but are not limited to the following)

  • Operate equipment and machines in a safe and efficient manner including front end loaders, tractors, forklifts, aerial lifts, and a semi tractor.

  • Welding, grinding and light metal fabrication under general supervision.

  • Responsible for cleanliness and general upkeep of machinery, equipment, and property.

  • Maintain and repair equipment and machinery as needed, which may include minor welding.

  • Adhere to safety precautions and make recommendations for improvements as becomes apparent.

  • Regularly must push, pull, kneel, climb, carry, or lift, up to 50 lbs. May stand on concrete for long periods of time.

  • Good communication skills are a must.

  • Be able to pass a drug test.

  • Must be motivated, exhibit ability to work independently, take instruction and work in a team environment with a positive attitude.

Minimum Education Required

High School Diploma/GED

Minimum Experience Required

Some experience with welding and grinding as well as equipment operation and maintenance is helpful but not a requirement to apply.

On-the-job training is available for the right individual.
