Full job description

Responsibilities

Peraton is hiring an Emerging Technology Systems Engineer (emphasis on AI) to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Jessup, MD. As a Systems Engineer on our team, you will support one of the largest enterprise-wide engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community. This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; and work is performed at a customer location.

As an Emerging Technology Systems Engineer on our team, you will support the customer in establishing and formalizing approaches that will underpin formal requirements and processes supporting customers. This role will contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as Systems Engineering Plans, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents. This role involves planning, monitoring, and generating systems engineering artifacts to assist the government with facilitating technology transition into and out of the capabilities architecture, and works with the government to facilitate, lead and document decision meetings to engage stakeholders in accomplishing the work.

The role will also help define the methods, processes, and evaluation criteria by which the systems, subsystems and work products are verified against their requirements in a written plan. This position will also be primarily responsible for coordinating collaboration with interagency and partners and assisting in policy documentation of those relationships. #MDFSP #AJCM

Qualifications

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or other related discipline plus at least 10 years of systems engineering experience. A Master’s degree or PhD may be substituted for two years of experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 14 years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable.

  • Operational experience of customer systems

  • Position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:

  • Significant experience with Intelligence Community customers, their missions and infrastructures.

  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with customers.

  • Demonstrated customer interface experience in eliciting technical requirements.

  • Experience working on project development from requirements definition to deployment.

Target Salary Range $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
