Full job description

The State Tested Nursing Assistant position recognizes each resident as an individual, and is responsible for giving basic bedside care to the residents. He/she shall work under the direction of the Registered Nurse or the Licensed Practical Nurse in providing safety measures and comfort to the resident.

Customers/Clients served by the position include the residents, resident families, employees, and other consultants of the Holzer Health System. The Nursing Assistant will also interact with the state surveyors and other governmental entities.

State Tested Nursing Assistant will ensure residents/clients are well cared for as evidenced by the provision of routine duties. Performance will be in accordance with established methods, policies and techniques that conform with recognized standards.

Education, Work Experience and Licensure:

  • Must be at least 16 years or older

  • No experience required but previous gerontological experience and knowledge would be preferred

  • Must possess evidence of a State approved training program or complete the training and competency evaluation program as approved by the State of Ohio within four (4) months after beginning employment.

  • Must complete 12 hours continued education per calendar year.
