Employment Type: Full timeShift: Day Shift Description: Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is a nationally ranked academic, quaternary care system based in Chicago's western suburbs. Loyola Medicine Transport is based at Loyola University Medical Center and is part of a three-hospital system including Loyola University Medical Center, Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, and MacNeal Hospital.

Monday thru Friday 7:00am- 3:30pm with rotating weekends and holidays

What you'll do: In this role, the Microbiology- Medical Lab Scientist will be responsible for supporting the delivery of patient care by performing laboratory testing that is utilized in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Experience with waived, moderate, and high complexity testing in a "clinical" laboratory setting through education or work experience required

  • Performs all laboratory testing, including the pre-examination phase in accordance with standard operating procedures and accreditation guidelines to support the delivery of patient care.

  • Conducts and documents established quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products; evaluates the results of quality control testing and implements corrective action according to established protocols to ensure the accuracy and quality of patient testing.

  • Participates in the validation of laboratory methods and procedures to meet the changing health care needs of our patients.

What you'll need for this job:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Specific Degree(s): Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, or Chemistry

Licensure/Certifications Preferred:

  • Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) or equivalent
  • Other: Laboratory certification required (ASCP or HEW)

Compensation: Pay Range: $30-$45.00/hour Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
