Oversees staff performance, manages staffing, hiring, orientation, and discipline, while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Manages budgets and resources, maintains appropriate staffing and understands healthcare finance. Leads and supports performance and quality improvement initiatives, implements evidence-based practice changes, and ensures compliance with professional standards and hospital policies. Utilizes critical thinking and technology in decision-making, problem-solving, and integrating new systems to enhance patient care and outcomes. Provides strong leadership and mentorship, ensures high-quality clinical care, supports staff development, and maintains clear communication and planning for patient care delivery. Encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and maintains positive relationships with patients, staff, vendors, and other departments to ensure patient-centered care. Demonstrates professionalism, supports ongoing education and development, maintains confidentiality, and upholds ethical standards and organizational policies. Communicates effectively with patients, families, staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient focused care. Educates and mentors staff, ensuring adherence to clinical practice models and evidence-based practices. Develops and implements policies, procedures, and process improvement initiatives in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Fosters patient, family, staff, and physician satisfaction, understanding its impact on business goals. Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have excellent customer service/communication skills
  • Must have the ability to develop outstanding rapport and work well with physicians and staff
  • Must be able to maintain focus on Patient Experience
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards (The Joint Commission, OSHA, Specialty Standards) strongly [Preferred]
  • Ability to communicate effectively and present information to both large and small groups
  • Computer knowledge and skills. Cerner medical record experience preferred.
  • Maintain clinical competencies and is able to fully assist at the bedside.
  • Collaborates with leadership and staff to define and refine goals consistent with the organization's mission and goals, taking into consideration all populations served.
  • Empowers and supports staff in educational offerings related to career growth and professional development.
  • Demonstrates leadership behaviors and attitudes consistent with the organization's philosophy, mission, and goals.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of state, federal, and regulatory standards that guide services by ensuring compliance through updating policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Supervises and develops work schedules, monitors utilization of resources, and participates in budget oversight with a focus on cost-saving measures.
  • Demonstrates high level of prioritization, time management, and the ability to take corrective action when necessary.

Education:

  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Required]
  • Master's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

  • 2+ years critical care, emergency department RN experience [Required]
  • 2+ years of emergency department RN leadership experience [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Required]
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) [Required]
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) [Preferred]
  • Certified Agile Leadership Essentials (CAL-E) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$78,540.80 - $146,078.40 Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)

Certain positions are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting, as required by state law.
