Hiring Salary Range

Level I: $20.43 – 28.61/hr

Level II: $22.50 – 31.49/hr

Compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications. The actual offer may vary, reflecting the candidate's unique blend of experience, educational background, and skill level

The Impact You'll Make in this Role:

With minimal supervision, the Financial Specialist I or II will perform accounting work that requires the knowledge and regular application of established accounting principles and procedures utilizing computerized data information systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Process and pay invoices accurately and on time.

  • Work with buyers, departments, and vendors to resolve material, pricing, freight, and sales tax issues.

  • Assist with resolving accounts receivable issues.

  • Generate weekly and monthly invoices in ERP System.

  • Review and assist with employee expenses submitted through the ERP system.

  • Assist with administering the purchasing and travel and entertainment credit card program.

  • Maintain accurate accounting records, including sub-ledgers, reconciliations, and schedules. Prepare assigned financial reports and journal entries.

  • Answer questions and communicate DPC accounting policies, procedures, and compliance requirements to other departments.

  • Assist with preparing, mailing, and filing year-end 1099 forms.

  • Assist with internal and external audits as requested.

  • Perform other assigned duties to support efficient Accounting department operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience: Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with minimum two (2) years utility or corporate accounting experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to handle fast paced work environment.

  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to be proactive on potential issues and communicate accordingly.

  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at various levels, both internally and externally.

  • Experience with financial accounting systems and work flows.
