Job Title: Onsite Medical Representative (Penns Grove, NJ)

Job Description

The Onsite Medical Representative plays a key role in supporting workplace health and safety by providing first aid, medical guidance, and wellness advocacy to associates at a busy operational site. This position works closely with the Workplace Health & Safety team to proactively manage occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses, coordinate workers compensation and return-to-work programs, and promote a culture of safety and well-being. The role combines hands-on medical care, safety coaching on the operations floor, and thorough documentation to ensure consistent, high-quality support for the workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Independently assess and administer first aid to associates for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.

  • Provide timely referrals to outside medical providers when additional care is needed.

  • Minimize the risk of injury for associates through awareness, education, and proactive engagement on the operations floor.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all care provided to associates.

  • Coordinate and maintain workers compensation and return-to-work programs for associates with work-related injuries.

  • Prepare and submit daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports to support effective case management and site operations.

  • Regularly engage with associates and site leadership on the operations floor to provide coaching and feedback on observed at-risk work habits and body mechanics.

  • Maintain a clean and organized medical workspace and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory is monitored and replenished as needed.

  • Participate in training and certification activities to facilitate first aid, CPR, and AED certification classes for associates.

  • Maintain all required first aid, CPR, AED, and Basic Life Support credentials in good standing.

  • Work flexible shifts, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends, to support site operational needs.

  • Assist with random saliva drug testing protocols in accordance with site procedures.

  • Maintain effective care delivery during emergencies and support emergency response efforts at the site.

  • Attend weekly associate safety committee meetings to contribute medical and safety insights.

  • Greet new hires and provide health, safety, and wellness information through orientation and daily one-on-one interactions.

  • Participate in weekly case management review meetings as needed to discuss ongoing cases and follow-up care.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved emergency cardiac care provider.

  • Current valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification from a Department of Health or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT); OR in the last year, at least six months of job experience in the military as a Combat Medic, Field Medic, Healthcare Specialist, Hospital Corpsman, or Aerospace Medical Service Technician; OR current active Athletic Trainer Certification from the Board of Certification (BOC) or equivalent state certification.

  • Ability to obtain adult First Aid, CPR, and AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within three weeks of starting if not already held.

  • Strong ability to assess injuries and illnesses and determine appropriate first aid or referral.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in medical documentation and record keeping.

  • Capability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with workplace health and safety personnel and site leadership.

  • Comfort working on an operations floor environment, engaging directly with associates.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Penns Grove, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
