The HIM Manager, Payer Clinical Services, oversees and supports the Health Information Management (HIM) team while fostering a culture of exceptional client service. This role ensures team members have the knowledge, training, tools, and support needed to meet or exceed business objectives.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Oversee medical record and correspondence requests, including process improvement and document creation.

Payer/Provider Collaboration.
• Manage team workflows to maintain quality standards and productivity.
• Provide inventory management coverage during periods of overflow.
• Conduct quality assurance monitoring for HIM staff.
• Collaborate with leadership, team members, vendors, and clients to continually improve processes and strengthen client and vendor communications.
• Ensure compliance with all healthcare privacy and security laws, including HIPAA, and safeguard health information from unauthorized access.
• Manage electronic health records (EHRs) and, as necessary, paper records.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in health information management.
-
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential in good standing.
-
Knowledge of HIPAA privacy standards.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
-
Experience training others.
-
Experience leading or managing a team.

Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Experience in health information management.
Mental and Physical Demands
-
This position will be exposed mainly to an indoor office environment and will be expected to work in or around computers and printers.

The nature of the work is sedentary, and the employee will be sitting most of the time.

Essential physical functions of the job include typing and the repetitive motion to utilize computer software and hardware continuously throughout the day.

Essential mental functions of this position include concentrating on analytical tasks, reading information, and verbal/written communication to others continuously throughout the day.
