Schedule: Monday-Friday
Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Research Scientist will be a key member of a scientific team addressing basic science and translational questions with the goal of improving our understanding and/or treatment of pediatric diseases. This individual will be responsible for planning, completion, and data analysis for experiments. As a senior scientist in the laboratory, the research scientist will also train and mentor other laboratory personnel, students, and scientists at USC/CHLA, and from other institutions. Depending on the needs of the laboratory, the research scientist will also contribute to preparation of data and/or writing for publication or grants, as well as presentation of work at conferences.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 2+ years of post-graduate research experience with independently planning and implementing experiments. The candidate should also have experience with mentoring and assisting other lab members.
Education/Licensure/Certification: PhD or equivalent advanced degree with 2+ years of relevant experiences or Master’s Degree with 5+ years of relevant experiences.
Pay Scale Information
USD $72,862.40 - USD $97,136.00

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
