Committee Clerk

Committee Clerks are responsible for the preparation, reporting and implementation of standing committee meetings. Each Committee Clerk is assigned several standing committees for a two-year legislative session. Committee Clerks ensure that committee meetings follow proper parliamentary procedure, the Standing Rules of the House of Representatives, standing committee rules and the Open Meetings Act. The applicant would also be responsible for operating teleconferencing software to permit remote participation in committee meetings and for submitting accurate reports to the Director of committee clerks.

Minimum Qualifications: The applicant must be professional, resourceful, and possess strong administrative, organizational, and clerical skills. Knowledge of the legislative process and a bachelor’s degree are preferred, though not required. Applicants must have proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and other programs as well as interpersonal and telephone communication skills. Ability to plan, organize and handle multiple assignments as well as an ability to operate various office machines is required.

Salary Range: $46,000+ (commensurate with experience)
