NPK International inc. Position Summary:

The primary objective of this role is to create and develop initiatives that make the organization's operational processes faster, safer, and more cost-effective. Responsible for researching, designing, testing, and implementing new products, technologies, materials, and process improvements that optimize manufacturing and site access operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, and develop innovative technologies, materials, and automated systems.

  • Lead multiple R&D and product development projects simultaneously.

  • Serve as the primary technical liaison for vendors, suppliers, and external partners.

  • Collaborate with R&D, plant personnel, and operations leadership.

  • Design and conduct engineering tests and analyze results.

  • Travel to U.S. operating locations and vendor facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.

  • 1-3 years of hands-on engineering experience in an R&D, product development, or process optimization capacity (experience in manufacturing, industrial field operations, or heavy civil is a plus).

  • Proven track record of operating effectively in a fast-paced environment. Must be highly organized, self-directed, and intrinsically motivated to push projects across the finish line.

  • A critical thinker who thrives on tackling complex operational bottlenecks to achieve tangible bottom-line savings.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the professional confidence to negotiate schedules, manage technical requirements, and build strong relationships with external business vendors.

  • Willingness to travel domestically.
