The Port is seeking a skilled and motivated Port Facility Maintenance Specialist 1, 2, or 3 to join our Bridge Maintenance team. This position plays critical role in helping to keep our movable bridges safe, reliable, and operational by performing mechanical, electrical, and structural maintenance and repairs. The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Job Duties:• Maintain and Repair Four Movable Bridges: Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and replacement of mechanical, electrical, and structural bridge components, including motors, gears, electrical systems, traffic signals, and related equipment.

• Support Safe Bridge Operations: Conduct routine and emergency inspections, communicate maintenance activities with bridge operators, maintain bridge equipment and work areas, and respond as part of the bridge call-out team.

Position-Specific Details:Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Port Facility Maintenance Specialist 1,2, or 3. Compensation: This position is eligible for premium pay of up to $1.50 per hour. (For each hour actually worked) Work Schedule: The position currently consists of working forty (40) hour work week with overtime as necessary.
