Full job description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Record Technician to support health insurance record retrieval and documentation efforts in Mountlake Terrace, Washington. This Long-term Contract role works closely with risk adjustment and quality teams to obtain electronic medical records, prepare provider correspondence, and keep project activity moving on schedule. The position also contributes to research, data accuracy, and provider follow-up while handling sensitive information in a confidential and compliant manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain electronic medical records from provider platforms and copy service portals to support quality and risk adjustment initiatives.

  • Prepare and issue provider record request letters for commercial, Medicare Advantage, federal, and related lines of business.

  • Perform accurate data entry and update tracking details across internal tools and source systems.

  • Research provider information and navigate multiple EMR or EHR environments to resolve record retrieval issues.

  • Contact provider offices as needed to address delays, remove barriers, and improve turnaround times for requested documentation.

  • Assist with onboarding and guidance for contingent staff during high-volume periods and help reinforce team procedures.

  • Contribute to quality review activities by checking retrieval work for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to standards.

  • Maintain and update job aids for provider systems and copy services to support efficient and consistent workflows.

  • Manage assigned tasks within established deadlines and provide additional project support requested by team leadership. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • At least two years of relevant experience in medical records, healthcare administration, or a related support function.

  • Practical experience with electronic medical record or electronic health record systems is preferred.

  • Strong data entry and research skills with close attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to handle confidential health information in compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations, including HIPAA-related standards.

  • Comfortable communicating with provider offices by phone and email in a clear and respectful manner.

  • Able to work a 40-hour weekday schedule with flexible hours and onsite attendance in Mountlake Terrace, Washington as needed with advance notice. TalentMatch®
