Job Purpose
Position: Controls Engineer
Experience: 5–7 Years Industry: EV Motor & Inverter Manufacturing Location: Pune / Manufacturing Plant Environment Function: Maintenance / Industrial Automation
Working: In shift and 6 days working
The Controls Engineer will be responsible for automation systems, machine controls, testing stations, safety systems, and commissioning of equipment used in EV motor & inverter manufacturing and testing. The role involves close coordination with production, maintenance, quality, and OEM suppliers to ensure robust, safe, and optimized control systems.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the installations of MES, Argonaut, Ignition, SQL ,NI, LabVIEW system on assembly lines

Lead PLC/HMI/SCADA/servo/robotics/VFD maintenance and improvements (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron, Delta, Beckhoff; Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus/TCP).

Manage PLC/HMI version control, backup & restore, change management, and safe programming standards; maintain the controls asset library.

Troubleshoot machine communication networks, field buses, and I/O diagnostics; ensure electrical schematics and logic documentation are current.

Drive poka‑yoke, interlocks, vision systems, DC tools and traceability enhancements to improve first pass yield and reduce rework.

Integrate sensors, actuators, drives, servo systems, and VFDs used in inverter and motor production.

Work with industrial communication protocols such as:

Profinet / Profibus / EtherNet‑IP / Modbus / CAN

Support data acquisition for SCADA / MES / traceability systems.

Enable machine connectivity and basic Industry 4.0 initiatives.
Education and Qualifications
-
BE / BTech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics
-
Certified PLC training
-
Experience in EV / Automotive / Power Electronics manufacturing

Knowledge of traction inverter or motor test systems is a strong advantage

Exposure to lean manufacturing and TPM concepts

HMI/SCADA:TIA Portal, WinCC, FactoryTalk, Ignition

Drives & Motion: Servo drives, AC drives, encoder feedback systems

Safety Systems: Safety PLCs, SIL/PL concepts, evacuation & HV safety logic

Communication Protocols: Profinet, Ethernet/IP, CAN, Modbus TCP

Panel & Electrical Knowledge: Control panels, wiring, field instruments

Testing Systems: EOL testers, HV testing, NI testing ,Hi pot testing, automated test benches
