Full job description
We are looking for a talented In-Shop Power Generation Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Pontoon Beach, IL.
Hours: 6:30AM - 5PM Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday (days determined by branch).
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Completing repair activities on generators or components
-
Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

Maintain detailed records of service
-
Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
-
Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
-
Maintain own tools
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
-
Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.

Proficient knowledge in troubleshooting commercial/mobile ONAN and other make/model generators.
-
Proficient work experience in replacing generator internal components and operating a load bank.
-
Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.

Fabricating Experience (Preferred)
-
Basic Diesel Engine experience.
Compensation and Benefits Base
Level II Technician Salary Range: $33.24 - $39.50
Salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Apprentice Trained Power Generation / Electrical Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Current relevant electrical certification
Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Proficient knowledge in troubleshooting commercial/mobile ONAN and other make/model generators. Proficient work experience in replacing generator internal components and operating a load bank.
