New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is seeking an Outreach Program Coordinator to work with the Outreach Manager to coordinate and advance the Company's outreach efforts, establishing and maintaining relationships with customers and community partners, and coordinating data entry of applications. Responsible for receiving applications and required documentation for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Universal Service Fund (USF) and Gift of Warmth (GOW) programs application. Raise awareness of low-income weatherization programs, exhibit at local events, present to targeted groups; and partner with municipalities and local community organizations to increase participation in programs designed to help income qualified customers meet their energy burdens.
Major Responsibilities:

Conduct in-person interviews across our service territory with customers seeking financial assistance for their NJNG bills.

Assist customers with the intake process and review submitted energy assistance applications for completeness and accuracy, reaching out to customers and program staff as needed.

Follow up with customers applying for the Gift of Warmth program through our online application.

Submit applications into the DCA (Department of Community Affairs) data system for final review and maintain accurate records.

Educate and connect customers to energy assistance and efficiency programs including programs such as: Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Universal Service Fund, NJ SHARES, PAGE, Lifeline, and Comfort Partners.

Serve as a liaison with the customer services and collections teams to assure continuation or re-establishment of energy service.

Coordinate and schedule home visits for senior and disabled customers to ensure personalized support and service accessibility.

Ensure confidentiality and compliance with federal, state, and agency regulations.

Participate in community events to foster positive relationships and enhance corporate reputation.

Maintain a good working relationship with co-workers, the Board of Public Utilities (BPU), Department of Community Affairs (DCA) and other organizations relevant to the energy assistance programs.

Participate with the development and implementation of an outreach strategy to reach and increase enrollment of customers in energy assistance and energy efficiency programs.

Serve as a company representative at community events to promote engagement and strengthen stakeholder relationships.

Maintain a good working relationship with co-workers, the Board of Public Utilities (BPU), Department of Community Affairs (DCA) and other organizations relevant to the energy assistance programs.

Participate with the development and implementation of an outreach strategy to reach and increase enrollment of customers in energy assistance and energy efficiency programs.

Perform all other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Director.
Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business, social services or related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Requires 2–5 years of experience in program coordination, preferably within energy assistance programs.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required.

Strong organizational and customer relations skills are required.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and web-based data systems for efficient documentation, reporting, and data management.

Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, to support community stakeholders through outreach events aimed at engaging and enrolling target audiences.

Ability to network and maintain partnerships with key trade allies, industry professionals and regulators.

Demonstrated ability to remain composed and effective under pressure, in high-stress situations, and amid frequent interruptions.

Maintain strict confidentiality of client information at all times.

Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred.

Job Location Type is Hybrid. Typical office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Other Details:
Compensation: Expected base pay range for this role will be $60,000 - $81,000.
Base pay is based on several factors including, experience, skills, and knowledge.
This role will be eligible to participate in an annual short term incentive program.
