Job Overview

Job Purpose:

  • The Dental Care Coordinator at Crescent Community Health Center is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of dental services and enhancing patient experience. This role involves coordinating patient appointments, managing dental records, and collaborating with dental staff to provide high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and manage patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of dental services.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date dental records, including patient histories and treatment plans.

  • Coordinate with dental staff to ensure seamless delivery of patient care and services.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and providing information about dental procedures and services.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans in collaboration with dental professionals.

  • Monitor patient progress and follow up on treatment plans to ensure satisfactory outcomes.

  • Facilitate communication between patients and dental staff to enhance patient satisfaction and care quality.

  • Participate in community outreach programs to promote dental health awareness and education.

  • Ensure compliance with health center policies, procedures, and regulations related to dental care.

  • Support the dental team in administrative tasks and special projects as needed.

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Associate's degree or higher in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field is preferred.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a dental office or healthcare setting.

  • Proven experience in coordinating patient care and managing schedules.

  • Experience with dental billing and insurance processing is highly desirable.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.

  • Proficiency in dental practice management software and electronic health record systems.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and data accuracy.

  • Problem-solving skills to address patient inquiries and scheduling conflicts effectively.
