The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Research Project Manager position. The Columbia Schizophrenia Research Center (CSRC) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Coordinator to support the implementation, coordination, and maintenance of clinical research studies. The position will work closely with the Associate Director and Director and will have responsibilities spanning study start-up, day-to-day study coordination, staff training and supervision, participant interactions, data collection, and administrative support.
This position is particularly well suited for individuals looking to pursue a long-term career in clinical research. The role provides broad, hands-on exposure to both industry-sponsored and NIH-funded clinical trials, as well as study start-up and implementation, regulatory processes, participant-facing research procedures, data collection, and collaboration across multiple departments.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with the daily supervision of CSRC staff, including training staff, providing support and guidance to research assistants and other team members, and coordinating day-to-day research activities.

Assist with managing study start-up activities, including protocol and procedure training, IRB document preparation and submission, portal and platform access, receipt and organization of study supplies, and study initiation meetings.

Assist with facilitating the institutional study start-up process and serve as a liaison with the NYSPI Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) and other NYSPI departments, including Pharmacy, the Inpatient Unit, and MRI Unit.

Assist with overseeing daily and weekly participant schedules and coordinating study visits and procedures.

Assist with the development and oversight of data collection instruments and research databases.

Interact directly with research participants, including conducting scheduling phone calls, obtaining vital signs, performing phlebotomy (blood draws) and sample processing, conducting on-site urine pregnancy and drug testing, assisting with MRI/PET scans, and performing other study-specific procedures.

Perform general clerical and administrative duties, including filing research documents, organizing participant charts, and obtaining medical records.

Assist with the preparation and development of grants, protocols, manuscripts, standard operating procedures, and other study-specific documents.

Provide direct assistance to the Associate Director and Director with clinical research operations and study management.

Perform other duties related to the implementation, coordination, and maintenance of clinical research studies.

Occasional brief phone calls to participants on weekends (<10 minutes).
Minimum Qualifications:

A BA or equivalent degree

At least (2) years of experience in the coordination of federally regulated/industry sponsored clinical trials
