Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will NOT be accepted through this flyer. Interested applicants should review the "How to Apply" section of this flyer for more information on how to be considered. This flyer will be used as positions become available. There may or may not be actual vacancies filled from this flyer. Responsibilities The incumbent is in charge of all phases of electrical installations, inspection, testing, and partial contract administration of all systems and construction operations. Provides expertise and serves as technical advisor on electrical engineering problems arising during construction. Contracted items typically include substations, overhead and underground distribution systems, building power and lighting controls, fire alarms and electrical systems with related mechanical systems. Assignments involve multistory buildings, large energy plants, state-of-the-art solar systems, hospital, and/or other large and comparably complex electrical systems for which job is technically responsible/authoritative. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD, Section 9905 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Minimum Education Requirement: Engineering: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering. The program must: lead to a degree in a school with at least one program accredited by ABET. Degree must be documented on a transcript. OPM General Schedule Qualification Standards - GS-0800 Series - https://www.opm.gov/policy-dataoversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#0800 Specialized Experience: Serve as the technical expert on complex electrical systems, resolving critical design conflicts when required; lead the review and approval of electrical submittals, ensuring compliance and maximizing energy efficiency for critical USACE missions. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Additional Information This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD, Section 9905 direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
