Robert Half Finance and Accounting and Kevin Sweet have partnered with a well-established and growing organization seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee a broad range of accounting operations and financial reporting activities. This is a key leadership position for an accounting professional who enjoys managing a team, improving processes, analyzing financial information, and partnering with leadership to support business decisions.

The Accounting Manager will oversee general accounting, accounts payable, billing, payroll-related accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and other accounting functions while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee daily accounting activities, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, billing, payments, and payroll-related accounting

  • Manage, develop, train, and support accounting staff while assigning and directing departmental work

  • Oversee the monthly and quarterly close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting

  • Prepare and analyze financial information for management review and decision-making

  • Reconcile transaction activity within SAP and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records

  • Oversee account reconciliations and assist with the preparation of financial statements

  • Review invoices, payment activity, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance with company policies

  • Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities

  • Prepare recurring financial reports and analysis for management

  • Partner with internal and external auditors and provide requested financial information

  • Respond to accounting-related inquiries from customers, vendors, employees, and internal business partners

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, controls, and efficiency

  • Provide financial analysis and support for special projects and business initiatives

  • Ensure accounting activities are completed accurately and within established deadlines

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience

  • Prior experience supervising or managing accounting professionals

  • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting

  • SAP experience strongly preferred

  • CPA preferred, but not required

  • Advanced Excel and accounting systems experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of work while maintaining accuracy

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently while also serving as a collaborative team leader

  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and identify solutions to accounting challenges
