Job Duties

District Sales Manager- Surgical for Covidien, LP (a Medtronic company). Responsible for leading a team of sales professionals including portfolio management, employee coaching, field visits & setting developmental goals to drive sales performance. Oversee complex sales processes, negotiate local agreements at local and enterprise level, and drive regional revenue growth through effective negotiation and strategic alignment. Source, hire, train & onboard new sales representatives while fostering team development & performance management to ensure long-term success. Responsible for promoting the Medtronic Surgical portfolio, leading with physician preference products in hospital environment focused on Bariatric, Thoracic, Colorectal, Surgical Oncology, General, Gynecology & Urology surgeons. Develop competitive sales strategy encompassing Surgical products and collaboration with other Medtronic business units to offer customer comprehensive solutions. Provide technical product specific teaching and educating medical personnel, peers and technical support personnel. Sell and service products including Stapling, Surgical Instrumentation & Advanced Energy devices alongside Electrosurgical Capital equipment & AI-powered digital video platform, suture and wound closure products, women’s health, and hernia products. Work in an operating room setting, understanding operating room protocols and provide procedural clinical support & education for all hospital staff & administration. Establish & manage multi-level relationships with clinical & administrative stakeholders within hospitals & surgery centers as well as distributor & Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) partner companies. Manage clinical study discussion, review published data and utilize product support & clinical application. Responsible for account, inventory, expense, and budget coordination.

Must be available and willing to serve customers 24/7 for emergent cases including working in operating room and answering calls, and providing sales and service support to various hospitals and clinics in the responsible territory.

Must work remotely from home office within the Dallas /Fort Worth, TX area servicing the North Texas, Arkansas, Memphis & North Mississippi territories.

Must be able to travel 50% within responsible territory including North Texas, Arkansas, Memphis, and North Mississippi to provide sales and services to various hospitals, surgery centers and clinics.

Must be insurable (car insurance) and have a valid driver’s license.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Biomedical Engineering, Histology, Immunology & Anatomy or health care related field

Minimum Experience Required

5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate sales experience for surgical medical devices. Must possess at least five (5) years’ experience with each of the following: Promotion of Surgical products within hospital environment to Bariatric, Thoracic, Colorectal, and Surgical Oncology; Developing competitive sales strategy encompassing Surgical products and internal business partners to offer customer comprehensive solutions; Teaching and educating surgeons, peers and technical support personnel; Selling and servicing products including Stapling, Surgical Instrumentation & Advanced Energy devices, Electrosurgical Capital equipment, suture and wound closure products; Working in an operating room setting, understanding operating room protocols and providing procedural clinical support & education; Establishing and managing multi-level relationships with clinical & administrative stakeholders within hospitals & surgery centers as well as distributor & GPO partner companies; Managing clinical study discussion, reviewing published data and utilizing product support & clinical application; and, Account, inventory, expense, and budget coordination

Other requirements:
