Full job description

Job Description: The Product Engineer will focus on the characterization, validation and production ramp of Acacia's latest generation of highly integrated optical engines for 800G and 1.6T Client Optics portfolio. You will bridge the gap between design and high-volume manufacturing, ensuring that our most advanced optical engines meet strict performance, yield, and reliability standards for the global data center market.

Key Essential Functions:

  1. Lead the technical transition of optical engines through formal release states (DEV to PROD). Own the validation of test plans and the correlation of results between engineering labs and the factory floor.
  2. Monitor production yield and drive continuous yield improvement actions. Implement guard band to ensure 100% field reliability while maximizing manufacturing yield.
  3. Lead Failure Analysis for wafer and module-level failures. Investigate root causes of the failures related to modulators, TIA, drivers and waveguides.
  4. Drive "Alternative Test Solution" projects to improve supply chain velocity. Execute initiatives to reduce test lead times and expand capacity through test time reduction and optimization.
  5. Develop and maintain automated data pipelines using SQL/SQLite and Python. Create critical performance plots to monitor production health and identify population drift.
  6. Work closely with manufacturing partners to implement process improvements and resolve production bottlenecks. Drive improvement and corrective actions when material or process deviations occur.
  7. Work with Hardware, ASIC, and Firmware teams to resolve "corner case" performance issues discovered during high-volume sampling.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience, Skills, Education and Certifications:

  1. Education: BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Optical Physics, Physics, or Semiconductor Manufacturing.
  2. 5+ years of experience in semiconductor, optical or high-speed hardware product engineering.
  3. Solid experience on 400G/800G/1.6T client optical engines or modules. Good understanding on PAM4 DSP, modulators and high-speed driver/TIA.
  4. Familiar with 400G/800G/1.6T client optical module specifications and test requirements.
  5. Experience on 2.5D/3D optical integration packaging and wafer probing test is a plus.
  6. Strong problem-solving and statistical data analysis skills.
  7. Ability to drive solutions through cross-functional teams.
  8. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  9. Extensive experience managing high-volume manufacturing in Asia(Thailand/Malaysia).
