About this Position This position is responsible for leading and developing the Procurement function into a strategic, proactive business partner. The role oversees procurement strategy, strategic sourcing, supplier management, cost optimization, demand planning, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the company achieves the best balance of cost, quality, service, efficiency, and risk.

Job Description

  • Lead and develop the Procurement team by setting priorities, allocating resources, managing performance, and building team capabilities.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business objectives, operational requirements, and financial targets.
  • Establish a more strategic and proactive procurement function, moving beyond transactional purchasing toward demand planning, strategic sourcing, and business partnering.
  • Lead strategic sourcing and negotiation for high-value, complex, and recurring purchases.
  • Identify opportunities to achieve sustainable cost savings and cost avoidance while maintaining required quality and service levels.
  • Develop annual and longer-term purchasing plans to leverage volume, consolidate demand, and improve commercial terms.
  • Partner closely with business users and budget owners to understand their requirements and provide procurement recommendations.
  • Act as a strategic advisor, not only as an execution function, by challenging requirements and proposing alternative solutions that improve efficiency and value.
  • Help stakeholders assess options based on total cost, quality, operational impact, service level, supplier capability, and risk.
  • Influence stakeholders to adopt more effective procurement and planning practices.
  • Manage complex stakeholder discussions and align different priorities between Procurement, users, and business owners.
  • Build and maintain a strong and reliable supplier ecosystem.

Requirements

  • 8 years of relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, purchasing, or vendor management. At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role, preferably managing a procurement team.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, from demand planning and sourcing through purchasing, delivery, invoicing, and supplier performance management.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance cost, quality, operational efficiency, service level, and risk.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge business requirements constructively and provide strategic procurement recommendations.
  • Comfortable acting as a business advisor to senior stakeholders and budget owners rather than simply executing purchasing requests.
