Summary

This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and is responsible for directing, participating in, and reviewing supervisory examinations of banks with a special emphasis on trust and securities activities. The duty location will be determined upon selection and is subject to space availability. The position may be filled at any FDIC Field Office within the Dallas or Kansas City regions.

Duties

At the full performance level, major duties include: Directs or participates in supervisory examinations of banks with a special emphasis on trust and securities activities, including banks which have been, or may be cited under Section 8 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act because of unsatisfactory practices. Reviews and analyzes the most complex and difficult reports of examination related to trust and securities activities as prepared by other examiners, and assists in the formulation of programs for the correction of unsatisfactory conditions or trends revealed in the examination. Conducts and/or attends meetings with financial institution boards of directors for institutions which have demonstrated problem characteristics related to trust and securities activities, including ERISA violations, with a view toward implementing and obtaining commitments for corrective programs. Coordinates trust and securities examinations with the Risk Management Policy Branch, State Banking Authorities and other Federal or State regulatory agencies. Assists in the supervision, counseling, and guidance of field and review examiners on special situations in examinations or investigations, including assisting in on-the job training of Financial Institution Examiners, and preparing the performance ratings of staff. Prepares and submits confidential written reports of examination, prepares a summary of findings for permanent records and any special memoranda on supervisory or enforcement issues. Requirements

Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) required Registration with the Selective Service. U.S. Citizenship is required. Employment Conditions. Completion of Confidential Financial Disclosure may be required. Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. CG-13: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as a Commissioned Examiner in the FDIC or another organization with comparable commissioning criteria to that used by the FDIC's Division of Risk Management Supervision. Such experience includes leading examinations of insured depository institutions relating to trust and securities activities to evaluate the safety, soundness, and risk posed to the insurance fund. CG-14: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined leading examinations and assessing risk posed by trust and security activities in financial institutions; and preparing and/or analyzing reports of complex examinations, applications, and investigations to prepare summaries of findings, memoranda, and recommendations. The range of pay shown includes base pay plus supplemental locality adjustments. The locality rates for these duty locations range from a low of 18.97% to a high of 27.26%. Pay will vary by grade level and the locality rate for the geographic location where the position is located. For more on FDIC locality rates click here. Salary reflects a pay cap for this position of $257,500. Relocation is not authorized. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill similar vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.
