We are looking for a Business Development Manager MEA (x|f|m) to join our Commercial Business Development team at Sartorius in Saudi Arabia. The Business Development Manager MEA is responsible for developing business-development activities and strategic partnerships in not yet fully developed but emerging markets or technologies with high potential. By evaluating market potential and identifying potential business opportunities, the Business Development Manager develops and maintains relationships with prospects, partners, government entities and other strategic stakeholders across the region.

Grow with us – Your Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate market potential and identify prospects through field activities to seize opportunities, then devise and implement business-development plans for not yet fully developed markets and industries in line with regional objectives.

  • Identify and develop new business and strategic-partnership opportunities in emerging markets to support long-term growth in the assigned territory.

  • Create and execute business-development strategies and plans, reaching out to potential partners and stakeholders through various engagement efforts, including emails, calls, visits, conferences and presentations, to expand Sartorius’ regional network and presence.

  • Qualify and prioritize opportunities based on strategic needs and fit, presenting the Sartorius value proposition and potential areas of collaboration.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support for business initiatives, including the development of partnership concepts, business cases and cooperation frameworks.

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with current and potential partners, government entities, academic institutions, industry stakeholders and other relevant organizations.

  • Identify and establish collaboration with local key opinion leaders in prospective markets to provide endorsements and presentations for Sartorius solutions and capabilities, supporting awareness and adoption.

  • Analyze business-development data and performance metrics, including stakeholder engagement, opportunities and contacts, to track the performance of business-development activities and continuously improve business-development best practices.

  • Actively use SFDC to manage and document leads, contacts, opportunities and stakeholder interactions, ensuring that all relevant information is up to date and accurately entered in the CRM system.

  • Stay up to date with industry regulations, government priorities and compliance standards relevant to the respective region.

What will convince us :

  • Academic degree in life sciences or engineering, combined with business experience; a higher level of education would be beneficial.

  • Minimum five years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, strategy or a related field within the biopharmaceutical or life-science industry.

  • Strong network and market understanding across the Middle East and Africa, combined with a strong understanding of biopharmaceutical processes and technologies; GCC experience is strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of business-development and partnership-development techniques, coupled with a focused interest in markets and technologies that are yet to be developed.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to independently lead projects and strategic initiatives.

  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural and international environment.

  • Excellent command of English; Arabic would be advantageous.

  • Willingness to travel as needed within the region.
