Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler to support the planning, development, management, and analysis of complex schedules for large-scale data center programs. This individual will be responsible for building and maintaining detailed CPM schedules, integrating procurement and commissioning milestones, analyzing critical path activities, and advising project leadership on schedule risks, recovery options, and milestone achievement.
The ideal candidate will have 8-20+ years of scheduling experience, with strong experience supporting hyperscale, mission-critical, data center, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or other complex technical infrastructure programs. This role requires expert-level Primavera P6 experience and the ability to develop schedules from early planning inputs, technical drawings, procurement data, commissioning requirements, and stakeholder milestones.
This is an office-based role that partners closely with project managers, project controls teams, MEP leadership, procurement teams, vendors, commissioning stakeholders, program executives, and client representatives to support schedule accuracy, risk visibility, and program execution planning.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule Development & Management
Develop, maintain, and manage comprehensive CPM schedules in Primavera P6 for large-scale data center programs.
Build detailed schedules from early planning inputs, drawings, stakeholder milestones, procurement data, commissioning requirements, and turnover objectives.
Create and manage baseline schedules, recovery schedules, re-baselines, look-ahead schedules, and schedule updates.
Establish detailed work breakdown structures, activity coding, logic ties, calendars, constraints, milestones, and reporting structures.
Develop complex schedules containing thousands of activities across design coordination, procurement, MEP coordination, commissioning, utility coordination, and turnover sequencing.
Maintain schedule integrity and ensure alignment with project controls standards, scheduling best practices, and reporting requirements.
Data Center Critical Path Analysis
Perform critical path, near-critical path, float path, and longest path analysis to identify schedule drivers and milestone risks.
Analyze dependencies across key data center program components, including:
Utility coordination
Electrical distribution planning
Generator milestones
UPS milestones
Switchgear milestones
Chiller and cooling infrastructure milestones
MEP coordination activities
Controls integration
Testing and commissioning
Integrated systems testing
Client turnover sequencing
Identify schedule threats, long-lead procurement risks, commissioning bottlenecks, utility-related delays, and milestone constraints.
Forecast schedule performance and provide recommendations to support milestone achievement.
Advise leadership on schedule risk, recovery options, and the probability of meeting key program dates.
Recovery Scheduling & Scenario Planning
Develop recovery schedules and acceleration scenarios when program milestones are at risk.
Model multiple schedule recovery options in Primavera P6 to compare completion dates, milestone impacts, float consumption, and potential gains.
Support re-sequencing strategies, parallel path planning, alternative phasing options, and recovery baseline development.
Partner with project controls, program leadership, and delivery teams to evaluate schedule impacts and determine practical recovery paths.
Document schedule impacts, recovery assumptions, and mitigation strategies for leadership review.
Procurement & Long-Lead Equipment Integration
Integrate procurement schedules into the master program schedule, with emphasis on long-lead data center equipment.
Track procurement milestones for critical infrastructure components, including:
Generators
Switchgear
UPS systems
Chillers
Transformers
Medium-voltage equipment
Busway
Controls equipment
Electrical distribution components
Cooling infrastructure equipment
Incorporate manufacturing milestones, submittal approvals, factory acceptance testing, logistics planning, delivery milestones, startup requirements, and commissioning dependencies.
Identify procurement-related risks that may impact critical path activities, commissioning readiness, or turnover milestones.
Coordinate with procurement teams, vendors, engineering teams, and project leadership to maintain schedule alignment.
Cost & Schedule Integration
Partner with cost engineers, project controls managers, and program leadership to support integrated cost and schedule reporting.
Support earned value management reporting, including schedule performance indicators and milestone trend analysis.
Analyze schedule impacts related to budget, resource planning, cash flow, productivity assumptions, and recovery scenarios.
Support resource loading, manpower forecasting, and planning curves in an office-based reporting and analytics capacity.
Provide leadership with clear visibility into how schedule changes may impact overall program cost and delivery objectives.
Advanced Primavera P6 & Schedule Analytics
Use advanced Primavera P6 functionality to manage complex schedule structures and reporting requirements.
Maintain and analyze multiple baselines, including original baseline, re-baseline, and recovery baseline schedules.
Utilize global change functionality to support controlled schedule updates and bulk modifications.
Perform schedule quality checks, logic reviews, constraint reviews, and coding validation.
Support delay analysis, time impact analysis, and forensic schedule reviews when required.
Develop schedule dashboards, milestone trend reports, executive summaries, and program-level reporting packages.
Reporting & Executive Communication
Prepare weekly, monthly, and executive-level schedule reporting packages.
Present schedule status, milestone trends, risk assessments, recovery options, and critical path updates to program leadership and stakeholders.
Translate complex schedule data into clear, decision-ready insights for project executives, client representatives, and senior stakeholders.
Communicate schedule risks, recovery options, cost implications, and milestone confidence levels clearly and effectively.
Document key schedule changes, constraints, assumptions, dependencies, and impact narratives.
Support leadership decision-making through proactive schedule analysis and recommendations.
Continuous Improvement & Team Support
Support schedule standardization, reporting consistency, and project controls process improvement initiatives.
Provide technical guidance to junior schedulers, project coordinators, and project controls support teams.
Share scheduling best practices, lessons learned, and data center-specific planning insights.
Support development of scheduling templates, reporting formats, and program controls standards.
