Description

Community Health Action of Staten Island (CHASI) drives dramatic improvements in the health of New Yorkers by feeding people who are hungry, healing families broken apart by violence, and bridging the gaps between people and the compassionate health care they deserve. CHASI provides outreach, education, prevention, and direct support services for populations most affected by health disparities – people with low or no income, low-income people with chronic illnesses, people with criminal justice involvement, people who use drugs, domestic violence survivors, people of color, and the LGBTQ community.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Data & Quality Coordinator is a member of the Department of Data & Quality (DDQ). They are responsible for data entry, tracking tools, and analysis of data for services provided across departments at Community Health Action of Staten Island. Responsible for supporting program staff and Data & Quality staff across departments to ensure database access, training, comprehension of tasks, and quality support.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the DDQ department to maintain high level of data integrity throughout all agency internal and funder data collection

  • Serve as the administrator for CHASI’s electronic health record (AWARDS) including, but not limited to, account set up, termination, & data integrity review.

  • Serve as the back-up administrator in creation and dissemination of extracts to funders and installation of updates and patches in funder databases as needed.

  • Routinely train staff on internal and external database navigation.

  • Prepare routine weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

  • Maintain data logs (e.g., gap tracking for follow-up calls) to monitor process efficiency and identify areas for improvement.

  • Provide direct supervision to Data & Quality Specialist within DDQ. Serve as point person to all DQS embedded in program regarding DDQ matters.

  • Assist with data entry into funder databases as assigned.

  • Perform all functions in alignment with CHASI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalency required; college degree preferred.

  • At least 2 years of experience managing data collection and databases for non-profit or government funding sources.

  • At least 1 year of supervisory and/or program/process management experience.

  • Good communication skills, written, and verbal. Able to present information clearly to individuals and groups. Training facilitation experience preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

  • Computer proficiency required in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and Access).

  • Experience working with Electronic Health Records and/or web-based databases. Experience with NYS or NYC funder databases preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of social services, HIV and public health issues; knowledge of Community Health Action programs and services preferred.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-departmental environment.

  • Strong commitment to serving marginalized populations, understanding of stigma, and ability to work with individuals with diverse backgrounds, abilities, experience, and talents.

The pay range for this role is generally$52,000-$57,000annually, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity.
