PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team supporting a recognized leader in the aviation and aerospace industry in Hagerstown, Maryland. In this role, you'll contribute to the research, design, development, testing, certification, deployment, and improvement of cutting-edge aerospace products and systems.

From advanced mission payloads and electronic systems to highly integrated aircraft and space exploration technologies, your expertise can help bring complex ideas from concept to reality.

What You'll Do

As an Electrical Engineer , you'll contribute throughout the product lifecycle, helping conceptualize and design solutions ranging from analog and digital electronic circuit card assemblies to fully integrated systems.

Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

  • Researching, designing, developing, testing, and improving electrical and electronic systems.

  • Supporting development throughout the complete product lifecycle, from early concepts through integration and deployment.

  • Developing and evaluating analog and digital electronic designs.

  • Utilizing Computer Aided Engineering tools to support engineering and design activities.

  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary design and development teams to solve complex technical challenges.

  • Supporting circuit modeling, simulation, analysis, and schematic capture.

  • Contributing to Electrical Load Analysis (ELA) activities.

  • Applying electrical design principles related to component selection, model-based definition, manufacturing, and production processes.

  • Supporting design considerations involving Electro Magnetic Effects (EME), Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC), and Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI).

  • Applying knowledge of High Intensity Radiated Field (HIRF) and Indirect Effects of Lightning (IEL) requirements.

  • Supporting printed circuit board design and layout processes.

  • Participating in system analysis and simulations using functional and logical models.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline .

  • Typically 2 or more years of relevant professional experience .

  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.

  • Experience using Computer Aided Engineering tools .

  • Experience or familiarity working with multi-disciplinary design and development teams .

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Preferred Qualifications

We're especially interested in candidates with experience or exposure in one or more of the following areas:

  • Aerospace and defense engineering environments.

  • Functional and logical modeling, simulations, and systems analysis.

  • Electrical Load Analysis (ELA).

  • Circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis.

  • Digital and/or analog circuit design.

  • Schematic capture.

  • Printed circuit board layout processes and tools.

  • High Intensity Radiated Field (HIRF) requirements.

  • Indirect Effects of Lightning (IEL).

  • Electro Magnetic Effects (EME).

  • Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC).

  • Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI).

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position may frequently require walking, sitting, standing, climbing stairs or steps, and repetitive hand, arm, and finger motions involving hand and finger dexterity. The role may rarely require lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.

Exposure to outdoor elements, fumes or hazardous materials, and loud noises is expected to be rare.

Pay Details: $43.53 per hour
