Title: Human Resources Assistant

Unit: Office of Human Resources

Salary: $63,000 - $64,500; Commensurate with Qualifications

Brief description of duties: As a member of the Human Resources Office the Human Resources Assistant will provide essential support for the office.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Processing HRMS and Labor Distribution as assigned. Add new employee data, appointment extensions, terminations, salary adjustments etc.

  • Assist employees with the completion of the I-9 and keep up to date on the form's regulations.

  • Assist with employee benefits communication and enrollment. Run bi-weekly benefit reports and update system as necessary. Process COBRA notices and employee enrollments.

  • Prepare and maintain personnel files for all employees.

  • Processes E-Verify cases for all newly hired employees, resolves tentative non-confirmations.

  • Communicates and coordinates with personnel at all levels within the organization to facilitate HR processes. Actively looking for ways to improve customer service and efficiency

  • Assist processing IFR for cost sharing

  • Provide backup to Research Foundation payroll

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in personnel administration or a minimum of 8 years of experience working in a Human Resources Department. (The education and experience requirements may be satisfied by an equivalent combination of education and experience.)

  • Advanced skills with computer applications (Microsoft Office software, e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)

  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented and able to follow up with stakeholders to ensure approvals are obtained and processes are completed

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Customer-service oriented with the ability to work within a team and multitask in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Ability to identify, research and resolve problems, and follow-through on tasks with moderate direction.
