Program Planning & Scheduling Analyst

Location: Melbourne, FL

Work Style: 100% Onsite

Schedule: 9/80 schedule, approximately 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $55.00 - $65.00/hour

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview

We are seeking a Program Planning & Scheduling Analyst to support a major aerospace and defense program in Melbourne, FL.

This is not an administrative or personnel scheduling position. This role is responsible for building, maintaining, and managing the master schedule for a complex defense program, ensuring that work across engineering, manufacturing, materials, finance, quality, and other teams stays coordinated and on schedule.

You will help program leadership understand what work needs to happen, when it needs to happen, what activities depend on one another, and where delays or risks could impact critical program deadlines.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop, maintain, and coordinate Integrated Master Plans (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for the program.

  • Build and update detailed program schedules using Microsoft Project and related scheduling tools.

  • Coordinate schedules across engineering, manufacturing, materials, finance, and quality teams.

  • Track actual program progress against established schedules and milestones.

  • Identify activities that are falling behind and determine how delays could impact other areas of the program.

  • Analyze the program's critical path and identify scheduling or network logic conflicts.

  • Perform schedule risk analysis and help identify potential schedule impacts before they become larger program issues.

  • Use Earned Value Management (EVMS) and other project management techniques to measure program progress and performance.

  • Utilize Gantt charts, PERT charts, milestone charts, and performance data to communicate program status.

  • Provide schedule updates and performance information to program leadership and other stakeholders.

  • Work closely with program controls and finance teams to connect schedule, cost, and program performance data.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following education and experience combinations:

  • Bachelor's Degree + 5 years of relevant experience

  • Master's Degree + 3 years of relevant experience

  • Associate's Degree + 7 years of relevant experience

  • High School Diploma/GED + 9 years of relevant experience

Relevant experience may include business, finance, accounting, program control, program planning/scheduling, or similar industry-related experience.

Candidates must also have:

  • Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance

  • Scheduling and planning experience within a project or program environment

  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project

  • Ability to identify schedule risks, critical-path issues, and dependencies

  • Ability to work fully onsite in Melbourne, Florida

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace or defense industry experience

  • Hands-on Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS) experience

  • Advanced Microsoft Project experience

  • Microsoft Project Server experience

  • Deltek Cobra experience

  • Deltek Acumen Risk experience

  • Knowledge of DCMA schedule health metrics

  • Excel Macro/VBA experience

  • Previous program controls or schedule management experience supporting government programs

Role Overview

This position serves as a key program scheduling function supporting a large-scale aerospace and defense program. The analyst will develop and manage an integrated master schedule that connects activities across engineering, manufacturing, materials, quality, finance, and other program teams.

The role focuses on ensuring that program activities remain properly sequenced and on schedule, identifying dependencies and critical-path activities, and evaluating how delays or changes may impact major program milestones. The analyst will use Microsoft Project, EVMS, schedule risk analysis, and other program management tools to provide program leadership with clear visibility into schedule performance, risks, and areas requiring attention.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
