Introduction
Join IBM and be part of the team driving the quantum revolution and the AI era. As a Developer, you’ll work on the systems powering the future—from microprocessors to AI LLM solutions—while growing your skills in a collaborative, innovative environment.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Software or Hardware Development Engineer, you’ll contribute to the design, testing, and support of IBM’s industry-leading technologies, including IBM zSystems, IBM Power Systems, IBM Storage, IBM Quantum Systems, with responsibilities such as but not limited to:

Install and test hardware systems hands-on.

Validate and characterize processors and systems.
-
Support customers and field engineers with technical solutions.
-
Design and test firmware architectures.
-
Analyze failures and improve system reliability.
-
Automate test suites and simulate customer environments.
-
Develop and document test plans and procedures.
-
Contribute to internal and external code repositories.
-
Collaborate with global development teams.
-
Install, configure, and validate AI Large Language Models (LLMs).
Required technical and professional expertise
Skills We’re Looking For

Understanding of client-server architectures and networking protocols.

Experience with application development and databases.

Ability to design scalable APIs, servers, services, and applications.

Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Strong communication, design, and testing skills.

Curiosity, creativity, and a client-first mindset.
Preferred technical and professional experience

Familiarity with Mechanical Engineering: Exposure to mechanical engineering principles and concepts is beneficial for developing hardware products.

Basic Understanding of Firmware Engineering: Knowledge of firmware engineering concepts can aid in testing and validating components.

Exposure to Electrical Engineering: Familiarity with electrical engineering principles can support the development of hardware and technology products.
