Job Description

Insight Global is looking to add a Lead Electrical Power Systems Engineer to their team located in the Berkeley, MO team. This individual will serve as the technical lead for electrical power architecture efforts supporting naval shipbuilding programs. They will spend approximately 50% of their time leading engineers and driving technical direction, while remaining heavily involved in hands-on design and analysis work. Daily responsibilities include leading the development and modification of electrical power system architectures, reviewing and translating customer requirements into system designs, supporting ongoing ship construction efforts, and addressing technical questions from both internal teams and Navy stakeholders. The engineer will provide technical oversight to a team of approximately 12 engineers, ensuring high-quality deliverables while mentoring and developing junior team members. They will also collaborate with program leadership, engineering teams, and customers to evaluate design changes, troubleshoot complex power system issues, validate system performance, and drive solutions through implementation. This role requires deep expertise in electrical power systems, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to balance strategic technical guidance with detailed engineering execution.

Skills and Requirements

-14+ years of Electrical Power Systems Architecture, Design, and Analysis experience. -Strong background in electrical power distribution, generation, and power system design. -Experience leading complex engineering efforts and mentoring technical teams. -Ability to translate customer requirements into technical solutions and lead designs from concept through implementation. -Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer-facing skills. -Active Secret Security Clearance -Aerospace, Defense, Naval, or other highly regulated industry experience. -Bachelors degree -U.S. Navy or shipbuilding program experience. -Master's degree or PhD. -Experience leading teams of 10+ engineers. -Experience supporting government contracts and engineering modifications.
