The Department of English at Binghamton University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the field of 20th or 21st century American literatures beginning Fall 2027. We invite a wide range of theoretical and methodological approaches. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated research record and should have experience teaching a broadly diverse student body. Candidates should be prepared to teach the department's American Literature survey as well as undergraduate courses in their area of specialization. The standard teaching load for this position is 2/2.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

• PhD in English or a related field by August 16, 2027

• Advanced expertise in American literature

• Experience teaching American literature at the college level

Preferred Qualifications:

• Significant record of scholarly publication
