Job Description
Under the supervision of, and in conjunction with an Ophthalmologist, diagnoses and treats eye movement disorders and associated sensory deficiencies. Performing administrative duties, such as assists in managing prescriptions, customer records etc.
Job Responsibility
Fits eyeglasses and contact lenses, following prescription written by ophthalmologist or optometrist.
Measures clients' eyes, including distance between centers of pupils, distance between the eye surface and lens, bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, and papillary distance.
Proposes eyeglass frames, lenses, and lens coatings after considering prescription and customer's occupation, habits, and facial features.
Verifies finished lenses are ground to specification.
Submits ophthalmic laboratory information to grind and insert lens, lens size, materials, color, and style.
Liaises with sales professionals and vendors.
Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.
Job Qualification
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Current License to practice as an Ophthalmic Dispenser in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed. Current Contact Lens Dispenser Certification preferred.
1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
Bilingual Spanish, preferred.
Experience in a fast paced, high volume work environment, preferred.
Shift Details: Monday-Friday, 8:30a-5p

The salary range for this position is $62250.00-$100130.00/year
