Full job description

Job Summary Implements employee health services (including volunteers, and selected services to Affiliated Staff physicians) to include physical assessments, health promotion, annual screenings, immunizations, assessment of injured workers, immunizations, and urine drug screening.

Essential Functions

  • All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.

  • Performs post-offer health screenings including urine drug screens, vision and hearing screens, phlebotomy, and range of motion.

  • Assesses employees/volunteers for tuberculosis via Mantoux skin testing and history taking. Refers to Health Department as appropriate. Provides respiratory fit-checking and education as appropriate for each facility.

  • Assesses employees work related health care needs via annual audits. Performs assessments related to medical surveillance (Hyperbaric, ETO, Chemo toxic agents).

  • Assesses immunity to vaccine-preventable infectious diseases and administers immunizations as appropriate.

  • Performs exposure management as indicated for each facility. Provides or arranges first aid treatment for injured employees.

  • Provides urine drug/alcohol screenings for employees with particularized suspension of impairment.

  • Promotes good health habits and provides age specific wellness education verbally and via written materials.

  • Maintains clean and safe environment. Notifies office coordinator to supply needs.

  • Enhances professional growth through attendance at educational opportunities, and through professional journals.

  • Maintains annual mandatory requirements. Practices safe work habits (e.g. lifting, safe needle devices).

  • Participates on committees as requested by manager.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - Associate degree in Nursing. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.

  • Experience - Three (3) years in Clinical Nursing Experience. Public Health, School Nursing, or Occupational Health experience preferred

  • Holds a current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or is licensed to practice as an RN in the state the team member is working.
