Job Description

nsight Global is seeking a VP of Quality for a growing chemical manufacturing company in East Tennessee. This person will lead a team of approximately six and own the company’s QMS, global regulatory compliance, laboratory operations, audits, and quality strategy. This is a hands-on builder role focused on rebuilding the quality organization, simplifying and combining multiple quality systems, and creating a scalable quality program for future growth and acquisitions.

Own and improve the company’s QMS, ensuring compliance with applicable FDA, EMA, ISO, and internal standards. Lead global compliance, inspection readiness, and quality audits across manufacturing sites. Oversee plant quality teams, site quality managers, and quality control laboratories. Drive CAPA, supplier quality, design controls, complaint resolution, and post-market vigilance. Combine and simplify multiple quality systems into one scalable program. Build a quality culture across operations, commercial, supply chain, and other business functions. Partner with executive leadership to align quality strategy with company growth. Present quality strategy, risks, and performance to executives, private equity stakeholders, and the board. Balance executive-level strategy with hands-on support for daily quality issues. Lead a team of approximately six quality and laboratory professionals. Primarily onsite in Dayton, TN, with relocation assistance available. Typical hours are approximately 7:30 AM–5:30 PM, with occasional evening or weekend needs. Approximately 20–25% travel to customers, board meetings, and other facilities. Interview process includes HR screen, executive interviews, and a final onsite. (no longer than 2 weeks)

Skills and Requirements

10+ years of quality experience within chemical manufacturing, life sciences, or another regulated manufacturing environment. Bachelor’s degree in science or a related field. Leadership experience owning and improving a QMS, including ISO 9001. Experience overseeing manufacturing quality teams and QC laboratory operations. Laboratory background with knowledge of chemistry, analytical testing, instrumentation, and test methods. Ability to operate at both the executive and hands-on operational levels. Experience integrating multiple quality systems following an acquisition. Experience building or rebuilding a quality organization. Global or multi-site quality leadership experience. SAP S/4HANA. GxP, FDA, EMA, EPA, ISO 13485, or international regulatory experience. Experience in a private equity-backed or entrepreneurial company.
