Job Description
The Superintendent directs day-to-day field operations for all trades on site and maintains overall control of the jobsite. The Superintendent's functions include managing the look-ahead schedule, directing and coordinating subcontractors, running the site safety program, controlling quality, coordinating inspections, and serving as the main field contact for the owner, architect, and inspectors. The Superintendent reports to the Project Manager, works closely with them on schedule, cost, and changes, and provides leadership to field staff and subcontractor foremen.
$60-65/hr
Skills and Requirements
8+ years in commercial construction, including 5+ years as a superintendent for a general contractor. Has run at least two multi-trade building projects of similar size and type from start to certificate of occupancy. Reads architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and specs well, and can find conflicts between them. Builds and manages schedules (look-ahead at minimum; MS Project a plus). Working knowledge of the California Building Code, Title 24, and Cal/OSHA rules. OSHA 30-Hour Construction card, plus current First Aid/CPR. Comfortable with a project management platform (Procore or similar), email and digital daily reports. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Background in a mechanical or MEP trade, so they understand our self-performed work. Public works experience: prevailing wage, DIR registration, and certified payroll. QSP certification for SWPPP on sites that need a stormwater plan. Experience with commissioning and TAB on HVAC-heavy buildings. Bilingual English/Spanish.
