Job Description
Manage the lifecycle of customer purchase orders (POs) from receipt through delivery to customer distribution centers. Process customer orders using two systems, including a proprietary system and a Transportation Management System (TMS). Apply established business rules to ensure shipments are routed, billed, and executed correctly (training provided). Communicate with customers primarily via email (approximately 98% email; limited phone calls). Respond professionally to customer inquiries or concerns, including escalations from upset customers. Coordinate internally with teammates to ensure shipments move efficiently and accurately. Maintain accurate documentation and shipment records. Use Excel as a daily work tool for filtering, sorting, and navigating data (advanced formulas not required).
Skills and Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. 1–3 years of customer service or customer‑facing experience. Strong written communication skills and comfort communicating with customers via email. Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution‑oriented when handling difficult situations. Basic Excel proficiency (filtering, sorting, navigation). Willingness to ask questions and seek clarification when needed. Ability to accept feedback with a positive, growth‑oriented mindset. Strong time‑management skills and ability to prioritize competing tasks. Exposure to transportation, logistics, or supply chain environments. Experience working with order management or transportation systems.
