Salary: $90,000 USD per year

Description

OVERVIEW:

The Divisional Finance and Compliance Specialist plays a critical role in strengthening financial operations across the Golden State Division. Reporting directly to the Divisional Controller, this position is responsible for implementing systems and procedures that address identified financial and operational risks and weaknesses. The role emphasizes proactive solutions and process improvements and will train corps/units in best practices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with divisional headquarters and corps/units to assess and address risk areas.

  • Evaluate and train in controls, and procedures to mitigate operational vulnerabilities.

  • Provide financial analysis and reports to corps/units identifying areas of concern and recommendations for changes/improvement.

  • Conduct site visits to evaluate current practices and support implementation of corrective actions.

  • Provide hands-on training and support to corps/units on systems and procedures.

  • Coordinate with corps/units receiving governmental funds on compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

  • Follow up on internal and external audit recommendations.

  • Follow up on THQ Risk Department related items with corps/units for compliance.

  • Travel to corps/units as needed (estimated 30–50%).

  • Other related duties as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 3–5 years of experience in financial operations, internal audit, or risk management.

  • Experience in non-profit or faith-based organizations strongly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of internal controls and financial systems.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to travel regularly and work independently across diverse teams

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Treasury Management Systems

  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually file boxes)

  • Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software (everyone)
